It is 12:30 a.m. and we’ve just left the floor of the Kansas House after defeating (thankfully) a huge tax increase of $1.2 billion over the next two years. It passed in the Senate 26-14, and nearly passed in the House. When it became clear it was nowhere near veto-proof, our bigger-spending colleagues began to change their votes from yes to no. So we will be back at it again tomorrow. Rest well, Kansas.
